Harbingers III: Three When-Then Signs for Christians to Flee the Cities Before Martial Law
Summary: The Harbinger was about a series of events that needed explanation in Cahn’s best-selling book warning of impending judgment. Harbingers III is about three biblical signs to flee the cities prior to martial law.
Let’s be honest. If you didn’t grow up in the city where you live, you may have moved there tentatively, as if you could move away if things didn’t work out. An example is how a person starts smoking. They think, If this gets to hurting me, I’ll quit. The facts are, the damage that’s done is painless for years and they should quit now. The same is true about getting out of the cities.
The Bible is the #1 best-selling book and most people who read it gain the conviction that it is God’s Word. Many who take the Bible seriously say the “signs of the times” are ominous. Here’s a look at three omens:
- “The day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman.” Paul’s warning is a reference to when destruction fell on Egypt and it birthed Israel as they fled the next day.i When half a dozen nations ended years of concern and negotiation in an agreement for Iran to have nuclear power, it was “Peace and safety.” Many leaders believe Iran is not to be trusted.
“When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation standing where it does not belong…flee.”ii Early Christians understood Christ’s warning to mean military, and when the Roman army came, they fled Jerusalem and were spared the siege when Titus came. The US governemnt is planning a military operation “where it does not belong.” It’s JADE HELM: Homeland Eradication of Local Militants. Christians could soon find themselves trapped in the cities under martial law, or in a FEMA camp for re-education if they don’t heed Christ’s warning. Who do we trust? The government, our own perceptions (when they’ve proven they aren’t telling us re surveillance, etc), or Christ’s warning?
“As it was also in the days of Lot…on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire…”iii The Supreme Court decision for same-sex marriage suggests impending judgment to many.
All three of these harbingers have a current focus. The nuclear treaty with Iran had a June 30 deadline. JADE HELM begins July 15. The Supreme Court decision came on June 27; it was the 9th day of the 4th Jewish month, counting from the new moon crescent, a date when in Bible times, “there was no bread for the people.”iv
This has a spiritual application. Christ likened bread to God’s Word. The Supreme Court was saying, We have no bread. In the previous context, Solomon’s Temple burned a month later…similar story for 70 AD when Herod’s Temple burned.
Those temples enshrined the Ten Commandments, but they burned because the people didn’t honor that law. Our “temple,” the Supreme Court, also has the Ten Commandments (over its entrance), but that court is as empty of true law as Israel was then. We’re at the end of an era and the cities will not be safe.
Cities have become cesspools of crime, violence, sex and perversion that spell contamination for children, even from new public school sex education. Considering a need to leave, a month early is better than a day late. Martial law (when things may change forever) may only have a 2-hour warning.
Elijah had the guts to pray for judgment to fall in order to turn Israel back. Do we? Isn’t it time? Please share this with your pastor and ask, Why not? God just may answer big!
