Obama Supports a Rapture Book !

Sixty million copies of “Left Behind” books have set new sales records. But Barack Obama quietly supports a different “Rapture” book, one that those mass-marketers hate!
As evangelicals know, the Left-Behind-promoted “Rapture to heaven” is an imminent, secret coming of Christ conveniently occurring before the approaching “Tribulation” (a.k.a. Antichrist’s global reign of terror) so that “genuine” Christians will be safely in heaven before the Book of Revelation’s disasters begin. And they’re constantly told that their escapist “Pre-Tribulation Rapture” (hereafter: PTR) is Biblical and 2000 years old.
Aware that no official theology or organized church before 1830 had ever taught the PTR, one historian began focusing years ago on Britain and various individuals that had been suggested as possible originators of the PTR.
Unlike other prophecy researchers, he did on-site research throughout Britain and laboriously went through hard-to-locate works of all of those British writers to find out who indeed was first to use words and phrases such as “rapture,” “imminent,” “coming for,” “coming with,” “Antichrist,” etc. He was shocked to discover that a young Scottish woman was the actual PTR originator in 1830, that London preacher Edward Irving obtained it from her, and that John Darby (long assumed to be the “father” of the system springing from the PTR) wasn’t original on any important aspect of Bible prophecy!
Wondering how Obama is involved in all this? Not a few see him as either the Antichrist or someone who’s preparing the way for that global dictator.
So in a sense Obama’s anti-Christian and anti-American strategy has been giving support to the now-growing anti-PTR view – the followers of which have learned about the PTR’s bizarre, 183-year-old, covered up history and are now prepping to survive during Antichrist’s 3.5-year reign!
The nonfiction book Obama actually supports (without realizing it) is “The Rapture Plot” by journalist/historian Dave MacPherson. For a taste of his original research Google “Famous Rapture Watchers,” “Pretrib Rapture Secrets,” “Pretrib Rapture Politics,” “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty” and “Scholars Weigh My Research.”
Since MacPherson is into activism as much as academics, young persons (who insist on facts and not opinions) appreciate his name-naming, tell-all approach.

[I recently caught the above item on the fascinating web. Any reactions?]

I agree with this post that the Pre-Tribulation Rapture was hatched in the early 1800’s and I’ve been sad that those supporting it seem unwilling for candid dialogue. Here’s an example as recent as yesterday…

Let’s forget our division over rapture/no rapture and look at something Christians aren’t seeing, whether they believe in rapture or not.

It’s the wedding parables. Wedding was on Christ’s mind twice in His last week–Matthew 22, 25, implying last “week” for us. It’s a week of years because we get power for 1260 days “and when they finish their testimony, the beast ascends to make war and to overcome them.” It gets equal time after deadly wound, Rev 11:1-7; 13:5.

I know you think the church is raptured in Rev 4:1, (not around in Rev 11?) but why rapture a church that is “wretched, miserable…naked”
Naked implies no wedding garment (Matt 22:11) and not open to Christ, not raptured.

In Luke’s wedding parable the reward for readiness is “ruler over all that He has,” but “beaten with stripes if not prepared, Luke 12:43-48 (“to whom much is given, of him much is required”) More than this, Luke 12:35-44 has six parallels to the Laodicean message, making Rev 3:17-21 also a wedding message.

The parallels are loins girded/white raiment, lights/blind, last church, knock, open, ruler/share throne. A 7th parallel: Laodicea doesn’t understand/”knowest not” and we don’t get the wedding messages. The king’s servants are scorned and treated badly; all the virgins were asleep with lights out (on this topic) and Peter said, Is this for us or everyone? Everyone wants a party, but not in Matthew 22:3-7.

This begs a better understanding of the wedding parables. “What’s in it for us?” When it says, “the Bridegroom comes,” it implies we can marry Him, but how? The oil lacked by foolish women in Matt 25 is found in Zechariah 4. Two olive trees put oil into the bowl for lamps. The OT reveals how we marry Christ…

God took Israel from calamity and a midnight cry (Matt 25:6) to a covenant relationship at Sinai. He later said, “I am married to you,” Jer 3:14.That’s also how they became “kingdom,” Ex 19:5,6. *Crucial to our understanding and readiness is how the wedding messages superimpose.

The king’s sudden coming to inspect guests is judgment. Laodicea means judging the people, but He isn’t arbitrary; we’re shut out by our inability to find the wedding (covenant relationship).

God won’t do anything without revealing it, (Amos 3:7) so what’s His “knock” to which we open “immediately”? Lk 12:36. The Bible is it’s own expositor, and the only other place where Christ “knocks” is Rev 3:20, for a church focused on materialism, and it ended in an earthquake circa 63 AD–serious “knock” that fits the Hebrew meaning as well.

And the Old Testament (olive tree, source of oil lacked by foolish) shows earthquake linked to “day of the Lord” in numerous passages like Isaiah 2:12,19; Joel 2:10,11; Zephaniah 1:7,10, Zechariah 14:1,5.**

**I know you think Zechariah 14:4 is at the 2nd coming, but then why would we flee in verse 5. The earthquake initiates the end-times. it is the “roar” of the lion that shakes heaven and earth, Joel 3:16. and you folks should see a roar as earthquakein Rev 6:1,2 when John hears thunder (roar), Compare Rev 4:7; 5:5, 6:3,5,7.

When Christ said, Search the Scriptures, they testify of Me, the only Scriptures in existence were Old Testament. God took Israel out of calamity to a covenant. Paul includes the Exodus when he wrote, “Brethren, I would not have you ignorant how our fathers passed through the sea…All those things happened for examples, for OUR admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come,” 1 Cor 10:1,11.

I am not exaggerating to say this is the tip of the iceberg, and you need to overcome a mindset that Christ foresaw when He described the aggelos (messenger to the church) as “blind and naked” I would welcome your willingness to candidly engage this topic and look forward to your response.

“Ruler over all that He has” is for those who get it right.
