We are entering a time of crisis. Prophecies are fulfilling as events that will precede the great day of God. Everything in the world is in agitation. Christ’s prophecy of events before He returns are fulfilling before our eyes: ”You will hear of wars . . . Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places,” Matthew 24:6, 7.

 

This is a time of overwhelming interest to leaders, statesmen and people in positions of responsibility. Thinking men and women have their attention fixed on world events and the breakdown of society, government, economy, healthcare, education, welfare, and justice. They realize that something great and decisive is about to take place, that the world is on the verge of a stupendous crisis.

The Bible only has a correct view of these things. Here are revealed the great final scenes of our world, events that already are casting their shadows before–the sound of their approach causes the earth to tremble and men’s hearts to fail them for fear, Luke 21:26.

 

Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the Word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts, 1Thess 5:1-6.
